PRESENTATION EVENTS
Question:
The country spotlight description states that we are at a convention of mysteries and unexplained phenomenon. Is this convention more like a comicon type with people in costumes and such or a scholar type convention with scholarly type people or a conspiracy type convention with “believers” trying to convince others that the phenomenon is true?
Answer:
The best description is probably that it could be seen as a World Travel Market type of convention.
Question:
We have found one unexplained phenomenon and several legends; can we do our presentation about only one?
Answer:
Yes, you should choose just one.
Question:
Some of the legends are creepy and death related is that something we can choose?
Answer:
If you think you can present this topic well, there isn’t anything in the guidelines that’s stopping you from it.
Question:
How theatrical can the performance be?
Answer:
While we encourage creativity during the Country Spotlight, it is still a presentation. I would suggest looking closely at the judging criteria (pg. 34) before you make a final decision about the theatrical aspects.
DEBATE
Question:
Do the advisors count as participating students in the Debate?
Answer:
Yes, they do.
